音乐商务

该课程结合了激动人心且不断变化的音乐行业各个方面的广泛培训与创新的音乐表演课程。在由经验丰富的行业专业人士教授的课程中，学生将侧重于各个行业领域，例如管理，市场营销，企业家精神，出版和许可，唱片和音乐会促销，新媒体，音乐产品和艺术管理。该计划旨在使学生为成功的职业生涯做好准备，经过很长的时间，以及发展大胆的新想法和方法将音乐与听众联系起来。

音乐表演

学生可以选择以下两种选择之一：

入学后，学生将进行沉浸式的音乐体验，以支持艺术发展并为学生从事表演或相关领域的工作做好准备。课程重点放在学生获得创业，职业发展，健康和保健方面的知识和技能上，并保持最高水平的音乐表演。

修读音乐表演专业的学生将接受与著名专业音乐家的私人授课，参加各种音乐合奏表演，并参加涉及非传统主题的各种支持性课程，包括音乐家的健康，职业生涯规划，录音，教学法，性能增强技能和技术。

音乐研究

音乐研究的本科学位课程面向寻求音乐教育职业的学生。该课程的重点是音乐家，表演和教学法。从大一到毕业，广泛深入学校和社区教学经验被嵌入。注重以学习者为中心的教学法，与不同的学生群体合作，融合技术和创造力的创新方法，为学生提供了基于学校的音乐教育，工作室教学，社区艺术和音乐外展计划的进阶学习准备。

成功完成音乐研究专业的音乐学士学位课程并保证的学生将准备进入音乐教育硕士 (教学选择)，获得许可。希望报名参加音乐教育音乐硕士(教学选择)课程的音乐研究本科生，他们必须准备通过认证，分别申请该课程。

4.试听要求

All video auditions should be unedited live takes, uploaded to YouTube and should include the requirements below. You will then submit the YouTube link and upload the pdf of your music (see #2 below) to our Audition Submission Portal.

Note: If you do not yet have a UMass Lowell student email account set up, you can use a Gmail, Facebook or Microsoft account to set up your profile.

(1)SCALES - DEMONSTRATE MAJOR AND HARMONIC MINOR SCALES

·Students will be assessed on the degree to which they possess a working knowledge of their instrument, which scales they can play when asked, technical facility, and intonation. Please choose two scales each major and harmonic minor.

·Notes:

Guitarists/bassists are strongly encouraged to use different positions (fingerings)

.Percussionists will be asked to play their scales on the marimba or other pitched mallet instrument. If you don’t have access to one, you may use a piano or other keyboard.

(2)PERFORM TWO PREPARED WORKS, OF THE STUDENT'S CHOOSING, IN CONTRASTING STYLES

·At least one piece must have sheet music; a copy of which should be submitted as a pdf with the audition materials. One of the pieces may be an original composition, however, this is optional

.·Students will be assessed on accuracy, technical facility, musicality and expressiveness.

·Notes:

As part of their prepared audition, percussionists are also encouraged to play a snare drum solo of at least intermediate difficulty (i.e., Intermediate Snare Drum by M. Peters).

(3)PITCH MATCHING

Please play 5 random pitches on any instrument and sing the pitches. These may be given from different sources, i.e., piano, mallet instrument, wind or string instrument.

(4)RESPOND TO A FEW SHORT INTERVIEW QUESTIONSThe

 department would like to know more about the mind-set and motivations of the students auditioning. Please answer the following questions in your video:

"What are your future career goals?"

"Why do you think the music program at UMass Lowell would be a good fit for you?"
